10 Spring Cleaning Tips Using Essential Oils

I love incorporating essential oils when I'm cleaning and now that its spring what better way to get you in the spring mood then to add some amazing spring smelling oils! I use Thieves Household Cleaner for all my cleaning and it is by far my most used & loved Young Living product. I’ll always have it on hand for a magnitude of reasons including how easy it has been to replace all my cleaning product with this one bottle!

Favorite Spring Oils

My favorite spring oils lately have been lemongrass, lemon, orange, bergamot and lemon myrtle

Tip One

Add 5-10 drops of your favorite smelling oil to your Thieves All Purpose Cleaner. I recently added a few drops of lemongrass to mine and it smells wonderful! If your new around here check out my blog post about how to make thieves all purpose cleaner HERE

Tip Two

Add 2-4 drops to your vacuum filter. I have a Dyson, and a Roomba that I add essential oils to the filters and it smells great while you vacuum.

Tip Three

Add 2-4 drops of essential oils and 1 cap of Thieves Household Cleaner to your steam mop. I have the shark steam mop, I typically add bergamot and lemon to mine for an extra shine and great smell.

Tip Four

Add your favorite essential oil to your thieves soft scrub. Recipe HERE. I always add lemon to my soft scrub as it is a natural degreaser but you can also add another favorite oil for additional smell. Depending on the size of container you can add 5-10 drops of each.

Tip Five

Use your soft scrub to clean all the things! I use it to clean my sink, stove, oven, toilets, tubs, grout, and the list goes on. Anything that needs an extra scrub!

Tip Six

When was the last time you cleaned your washing machine? Add a cap of Thieves Household cleaner and set to clean mode. Add 5 drops of lemon for an added cleaning bonus.

Tip Seven

Now let me ask you when was the last time you cleaned your dishwasher? Same process as your washing machine!

Tip Eight

Carpet deodorizer: Add 4-6 drops of essential oil to baking soda, mix well and spread throughout your carpet. Vacuum. Couldn't be simpler!

Tip Nine

Add couple of drops of essential oils to your dryer balls. I have been obsessed with adding Lemongrass to my dryer balls. Laundry never smelt better!

Tip Ten

Last but certainly not least, my favorite spring cleaning tip is to run your diffusers! There is nothing better then having your house feeling and smelling fresh and clean. My favorite spring blend is 3 drops Idaho Blue Spruce, 3 drops Grapefruit, 4 drops Orange and 2 drops Frankincense. It is such an uplifting happy blend, it will not disappoint!
